North Dakota State Fair Celebrates Record-Breaking Attendance in 2023!
Minot, ND – The North Dakota State Fair (NDSF) has reason to celebrate as they announce a record-breaking attendance of 356,534 this year, up by 13%! The previous highest attendance was in 2013, with 320,485. The NDSF carnival saw an increase of 8% with Crabtree Amusements.
The Grandstand was sold out to capacity (18,000) on Saturday, July 22, for Jelly Roll, with other concerts featuring Ludacris and T-Pain with 14,016 attendees, Eric Church with 16,505 attendees, Joe Nichols with 6,582 attendees, and Whiskey Myers with 7,226 attendees. The Bulls and Broncs on Monday and Tuesday at the arena had excellent attendance, as well as the Ranch Rodeo on Weds and Thurs. Indian Horse Relay also entertained
large crowds.
The 4-H, FFA, and Open class exhibits filled the State Fair Center. Livestock competitions, which were held each day, featuring goats, sheep, swine, dairy, beef, rabbits, and horses.
The NDSF free stages were a hit this year, with lots of great comments about the Budweiser Clydesdales, The Birdman (with positive comments and high ratings), I Flip, Mad Chad, MHA Native Dances, Daryl’s Racing Pigs, Los Moralitos Circus, Fur Traders Rendezvous, and Game and Fish Outdoor Skills Park. Food Frenzy winners included Flounders, Windsor Waffles, Sue Sue’s Concessions, and Old Tyme Kettle Korn.
Special Days at the fair included KX Co-op Day, Pepsi 2 for 1 Day, Military Day, BND College Save/Family Day, Water Day, Senior Day, and Call 811 Day. Commercial and Food Vendors also reported higher sales.
Overall, the NDSF was a huge success and a great time for everyone. We can’t wait to see what next year’s fair will bring!
