FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Job Title: Full-Time Facility Maintenance Technician

Position Overview: The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining and repairing facility equipment. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Maintenance and repairs of forklifts, bobcats, floor scrubbers, and other maintenance machinery.
  • Performing light welding tasks.
  • Engaging in basic carpentry work.
  • Handling minor plumbing repairs.
  • Lifting requirements up to 50 lbs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Ability to complete assignments efficiently and within set deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Capability to work effectively both in a team setting and independently.

Requirements:

  • A valid North Dakota driver’s license.

Marketing Internship

Type:                         Full-time/Part-time, Paid Entry-Level Internship 

Overview 

The North Dakota State Fair seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic Marketing Intern to join our team. This part-time, paid internship is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in marketing and communications within a vibrant and fast-paced event environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • General Marketing Admin: Serve as the first point of contact for marketing inquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Social Media Management: Oversee our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts, including content creation, posting schedules, and audience engagement.
  • General Office Duties: Assist with answering phones, providing customer service, and supporting office staff with various tasks.
  • Content Creation and Maintenance: Assist in creating marketing materials such as brochures, posters, and email newsletters.
  • Graphic Design: Prepare various graphic design pieces as required, adhering to brand guidelines and creative briefs.
  • Website Content Maintenance: Maintain and update the ND State Fair website as instructed, ensuring accurate and current information.
  • Marketing Database Management: Handle and organize our marketing database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Monthly Buzz e-Newsletter: Create and distribute our Monthly Buzz e-Newsletter, engaging with our audience through creative and informative content.
  • On-site Event Assistance: Provide support during the Fair, including event setup, coordination, and guest relations.
  • Special Projects: Take on special projects as assigned, supporting various marketing initiatives and campaigns.

Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled in a Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of marketing principles and social media platforms
  • Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Eager to learn and contribute to the success of the North Dakota State Fair.
  • Must be available to work during the North Dakota State Fair dates and some weekends leading up to the event.

Events Support Staff

Work Ethic: Must be trustworthy, dependable, and respectful and commit to excellent customer service. Have the ability to follow policies and procedures and take responsibility.

Description:

  • Setting buildings for events
  • Managing winter storage
  • Cleaning and Maintenance
  • Mowing lawn or moving snow
  • Keeping the North Dakota State Fair Grounds clean and maintained.

Additional duties may apply.

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with additional hours in July
