Full-Time Office AssistanT

Job Title: Full-Time Office Assistant

Position Overview: The Office Assistant at the North Dakota State Fair supports daily operations by handling administrative tasks, managing correspondence, assisting with event coordination, and providing customer service. This role ensures efficient office functions, supports staff, and helps maintain records and communications related to fair activities. This includes but is not limited to:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate departments
  • Conduct daily bank and mail runs
  • Manage office supplies and inventory
  • Oversee winter storage processes
  • Assist the event coordinator with administrative tasks
  • Support other departments as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Key Qualifications:

  • Ability to complete assignments efficiently and within set deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Capability to work effectively both in a team setting and independently.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous administrative or customer service experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A valid North Dakota driver’s license.

SEASONAL Office AssistanT

Job Title: Seasonal Office Assistant (Possibility of transitioning to a full-time permanent position)

Position Overview: The Office Assistant at the North Dakota State Fair supports daily operations by handling administrative tasks, managing correspondence, assisting with event coordination, and providing customer service. This role ensures efficient office functions, supports staff, and helps maintain records and communications related to fair activities. This includes but is not limited to:

Events Support Staff

Work Ethic: Must be trustworthy, dependable, and respectful and commit to excellent customer service. Have the ability to follow policies and procedures and take responsibility.

Description:

  • Setting buildings for events
  • Managing winter storage
  • Cleaning and Maintenance
  • Mowing lawn or moving snow
  • Keeping the North Dakota State Fair Grounds clean and maintained.

Additional duties may apply.

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with additional hours in July
