Minot, ND – July 28, 2025 -The North Dakota State Fair is pleased to announce the successful completion of the 2025 “Run the Route” 5K, held Saturday, July 19, 2025. As part of the Fair’s 60th anniversary celebration, the race brought together participants from across the country to kick off a weekend of festivities with energy and community spirit.

Hosted by Run with Heart and Sole, the race began at 8:45 a.m. at the South Hill Sports Complex (Our Redeemer’s Church), with on-site registration starting at 7:30 a.m. The well-marked course wound through Minot, drawing cheers from spectators and fueling runners from start to finish.

“Every year this race brings new faces and fresh energy,” said Lindsay Randall, Race Director and Owner of Run with Heart and Sole. “It’s amazing to see how it’s grown into such a strong community tradition—and this year was our biggest yet.”

By the Numbers:

  • 529 runners registered, with 500 checking in on race day
  • Participants represented 20 states, making it the most geographically diverse race yet
  • The oldest runner was 81 years old
  • 88 participants were age 12 and under, highlighting strong youth engagement
  • Total participation increased 8% over 2024, making this a record-setting year with 460 finishers

All participants received free gate admission to the Fair. Midco, this year’s event sponsor, provided branded koozies for all runners. Concert tickets and trophies were awarded to the top three male and female finishers, with additional prizes presented to top finishers in each age category.

A portion of race proceeds will benefit local youth programs, including BIO Girls and Strides for Sunnyside, helping support the next generation of runners.
