Welcome to the North Dakota State Fair Scholarship Application Portal

The North Dakota State Fair, in conjunction with the Minot Area Community Foundation, is proud to offer scholarships for high school seniors and students pursuing post-secondary education. These scholarships are awarded to students involved in 4-H and FFA who have demonstrated commitment, leadership, and a desire to make an impact in their fields.

Available Scholarships:

  • Graduating Class Scholarship: Supports high school seniors who have actively participated in 4-H or FFA at the North Dakota State Fair. This scholarship can be used at any accredited college, university, or trade school.
  • Hess Corporation Scholarship: Offers eight scholarships, including three $10,000 awards and five $2,000 awards. These scholarships are designated for students pursuing careers related to the oil and gas industry or community support roles, with a preference for those entering relevant trade or four-year programs.

Welcome to the North Dakota 4-H Club and FFA Chapter Grant Application

The North Dakota State Fair, in conjunction with the Minot Area Community Foundation and Hess Corporation, is pleased to support 4-H clubs and FFA chapters across the state with grant opportunities. Each year, twenty $500 grants are awarded to empower clubs and chapters to pursue impactful projects within their communities or participate in the North Dakota State Fair.

These grants are available for:

  1. Community Service Projects – Creative group projects that bring positive change to your local community.
  2. State Fair Participation – Financial support to assist with group participation or exhibition at the North Dakota State Fair.

Successful applicants are encouraged to showcase their project outcomes with a poster board display at the upcoming North Dakota State Fair. This display helps inspire other clubs and chapters and highlights your contributions to the community. We look forward to seeing your impactful projects and celebrating your dedication!

Application Deadline: Applications must be submitted by February 1, 2025.

Celebrating the 2024 North Dakota State Fair Scholarship Winners

As part of our commitment to supporting the next generation, the North Dakota State Fair, in conjunction with the Minot Area Community Foundation, proudly awards scholarships to outstanding high school seniors in North Dakota who have excelled in 4-H and FFA. This year, we are pleased to announce our 2024 scholarship recipients and honor their dedication to agricultural and community involvement.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We extend our gratitude to all the applicants for their hard work and dedication to their educational and career goals. We’re also grateful for the support of the North Dakota State Fair board, community leaders, 4-H, FFA, and the representatives from the oil and gas industry who make this scholarship program possible. Your involvement and commitment empower the dreams of our youth and strengthen the foundation of our community.

2024 Graduating Class Scholarship Recipients

Forty-nine high school seniors across North Dakota were recognized as part of the “North Dakota State Fair Graduating Class of 2024.” These students, all 4-H or FFA members, have shown a deep commitment by participating in the North Dakota State Fair for at least three years. Among these honorees, six outstanding students were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship:

Logan Maddock – Maddock

Evan Olson – Forbes

GRADUATING CLASS 2024

 2024 Hess Scholarship Recipients

Through the generous support of Hess Corporation, $40,000 in scholarships was awarded to eight North Dakota 4-H and FFA seniors pursuing education or training in fields related to the oil and gas industry. This scholarship program reflects Hess Corporation’s dedication to fostering leadership and career readiness among students.

The three $10,000 scholarships were awarded to:

Teagan Erbele – Studying Ag Education at North Dakota State University

Wade Gorder – Pursuing Welding/Fabrication at North Dakota State School of Science

Kyler Morgan – Majoring in Entrepreneurship at California Polytechnic University

The five additional $2,000 scholarships were awarded to:

Lilly Solemsaas – Agriculture Education at Northeastern Jr. College

Kali Norton – Nursing at Northern State University

Jaden Bullinger – Agribusiness at North Dakota State University

Savanna Lebrun – Welding at North Dakota State College of Science

Samantha Burchill – Agriculture Education at North Dakota State University
