FAQs

If I bought a reserved seating ticket can I move to the standing room section?

– No, the Standing Room tickets are only valid for entry to the standing area, while the Reserved Seating tickets provide access to the seated section only. Ticket scanning at gates are restricted to the specific type purchased, and guests must remain in the section corresponding to ticket.

What is the Grandstand security/bag policy?

– No weapons of any kind (including pocket knives). No strollers. No umbrellas. No folding chairs. No Reusable water bottles. Signs are allowed.

Where do I go if I lose my ride wristband?

– AMP Carnival has a trailer located near Gate D

Can I bring my dog?

– Sorry Fido! Pets are not allowed on the Fairgrounds, although service animals are permitted.

Are there wheelchair rentals available?

– HomeTown Mobility accepts reservations online at www.htmia.com (or by calling 1-712-938-2029: there is an additional $5.00 fee on the phone) During the fair they are located in Commercial 2 and 3 for your convenience.

Where can I park?

– Free parking is available on the east side of the grounds (accessible from County Road 19). Free shuttle buses operate between Dakota Square Mall and Gate E during the Fair.

Can I camp at the fair?

– Yes. Nine-day camping spots with electricity are available; tent spaces are offered per night. Contact the camping office for details.

Where can I purchase Fair tickets?

– Tickets may be purchased by phone or online at ndstatefair.com. To avoid additional service fees, visit one of our ticket kiosks located at all Marketplace Foods locations, Dakota Square Mall, and just outside the Grandstand. In-person assistance is also available at the State Fair Office.

How much is gate admission?

– Daily gate admission is $5 for juniors (ages 7-12) and $12 for adults (ages 13+). Season passes are $25 for adults and $15 for juniors. (pricing listed is the in-person or kiosk pricing)

– Children six and under receive free admission. They may attend concerts and grandstand events at no additional cost if they do not occupy a reserved seat. Strollers are not permitted in the grandstand.

Is there a lactation area at the Fair?

– Yes. A nursing room is available on the second floor of the State Fair Center.

Where can I get information about the North Dakota State Parade?

– Parade details are managed by the State Department. For information, contact the North Dakota State Parade office directly.

What should I do if my tickets don't scan because I bought them from someone else?

– For your protection, only purchase concert and event tickets through ndstatefair.com or Etix. Tickets purchased from individuals or third-party sites may not be valid, and the Fair cannot guarantee their authenticity.
