MINOT, N.D. – Families found the perfect way to stay cool while learning about one of North Dakota’s most valuable natural resources during the Water Day Festival at the North Dakota State Fair on Thursday, July 23rd.
Hosted by the North Dakota Water Foundation, Water Day took place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside the SRT Festival Park Tent, where children and families explored interactive exhibits, educational displays, and hands-on activities designed to highlight the importance of North Dakota’s water resources.
A total of 14 organizations from across the state participated in this year’s event, providing engaging activities and educational opportunities that taught fairgoers about water conservation, water management, and the many ways water supports communities, agriculture, recreation, and everyday life. Many booths featured interactive games and activities utilizing water, giving children the opportunity to learn through play while finding relief from the summer heat.
The afternoon concluded with Frost Fest, where families enjoyed complimentary snow cones from 3 to 4 p.m., providing a refreshing way to end a fun-filled day of learning and exploration.
