Family Day Brings Community Together at the North Dakota State Fair

MINOT, N.D. – Families from across North Dakota gathered under the SRT Park Festival Tent on Tuesday, July 21st, for another successful Family Day, sponsored by Minot State University. The annual event celebrated community, education, and family fun with a full day of interactive activities hosted by local businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Family Day featured 24 organizations offering hands-on activities, games, educational experiences, giveaways, and resources for families of all ages. The event gave fairgoers the opportunity to explore community programs while enjoying fun, engaging activities throughout the day.

Children and families enjoyed a wide variety of interactive experiences including sensory tables, educational learning activities, bracelet making, coloring stations, prize wheels, bean bag toss, mini golf, and many other family-friendly games designed to encourage creativity, learning, and play.

Returning as the presenting sponsor for the second consecutive year, Minot State University once again played a leading role in the event by bringing back its popular cornhole games and welcoming fairgoers with appearances from Buckshot the Beaver, who spent the day greeting families and posing for photos.

Family Day continues to be one of the North Dakota State Fair’s favorite traditions by connecting families with organizations that serve the community while providing a free, interactive experience for guests of all ages.

“Family Day is a wonderful opportunity for families to slow down, spend time together, and discover the incredible organizations that help make our communities stronger,” said Charlene Ratliff, Marketing Director for the North Dakota State Fair. “We’re especially grateful to Minot State University for once again serving as our sponsor and helping create an experience where learning, community, and fun all come together. Their partnership, along with the participation of our local businesses and nonprofits, makes Family Day one of the highlights of the Fair.”

The North Dakota State Fair extends its sincere appreciation to Minot State University for sponsoring Family Day and for its continued commitment to supporting families throughout the region. Special thanks also go to the 24 participating businesses and nonprofit organizations whose creativity, enthusiasm, and community spirit helped make this year’s event a tremendous success.
